Do you all really think we can afford to lose millions of more jobs?

One in six jobs are auto related, so we are talking about a lot of jobs.

There is a simple solution to this mess, tie CEO compensation to workers compensation.

CEOs can't make more than 100 times your lowest paid worker.

That insures that ALL wages rise across the board.

The days of CEOs getting a free ride for poor performance needs to change.

If one of the Big 3 go under, they will be bought out. Going bankrupt does not necessarly mean that plants will permanantly close.

The Government has no buisness bailing ANYONE out.

Cutting back CEO pay is not going to make non-producing union slugs work any harder,(or actually work at all for a change) Not all union workers are worthless, but it's been my experience that about 40% of them are nothing but a hinderance to every union shop I've worked in... and I've woked in several.

That being said, I do agree that CEO pay should be capped... and their very jobs tied to performance.

I would have to disagree. Often, the plants are sold off piecemeal. Guess who'd be in the market for the equipment, and has the money to buy them? China.
The loss is unbelievable if the automakers go down. There are millions of jobs dependent on them nationwide.

Gost,

I'd be willing to bet that you are not willing to give back any of the benefits or safety regulations that the unions have provided you.

Union haters are just idiots.

Even if you don't belong to a union, you still reap the benefits of higher wages, better benefits, safer working conditions, so why don't you scab suckers just shut up and let someone else do your bidding for you??

You just couldn't be a republican scum sucker if you didn't hate the working man and defend the CEOs.

EZ -

What part of "That being said, I do agree that CEO pay should be capped... and their very jobs tied to performance" didn't you grasp?

As far as Unions go, I've been a Teamster, a United Areospace Worker, and a Steelworker. The company I curently work for is a union shop, and I can tell you that our union hasn't done !@#$ to protect our jobs, maintain benifit levels, or increase safety.

All our union does do is collect dues, fight with the company over trivial !@#$ to keep the pot stirred and spend thousands of dollars in arbitrations, trying to get worthless employees their jobs back after being fired because they were too damn lazy to do their jobs and/or actually even bother coming to work.

We just re-negotiated our contract and the results were dismal... a whopping 2% pay raise (1.5% for employees with less than 3 years seniority) an increase in insurance costs, and a reduction in benifits.

I don't care if people like you call me a scab or not... it means nothing. I work with sheep like you day in and day out.

No, I'm no big an of our union. They are as worthless as tits on a boar hog.

There was a day in my younger years, when Unions were really needed.... back in the days before OSHA, FMLA and Govenment regulation in the workplace.

There may still be a place and a need for Unions in some smaller companies, and in the agricultural theatre, but in my opinion, Unions are a hinderance to most larger companies... and quite worthless.

Then quit.

Go find a non-union shop to work in.

I'm sure that $10 a month will make your pathetic life so much better.
