Re: Trump: Tariffs will 'come off' only if there's a 'fair' NAFTA agreement

Many people claim lots of !@#$. That doesn't make it fact.

Really, you need to learn what consitutes FACT and what consitutes RUMOUR. And then learn to tell the difference

No, see again you struggle with the difference between FACT and RUMOUR.

There is a shitload of FACTS to support global warming/climate change. So much so that 98% of all climate scientists agree on the cause.

Re: Trump: Tariffs will 'come off' only if there's a 'fair' NAFTA agreement

I just found out I was mistaken. The total trade deficit is over 800 BILLION $$$$$$ Not 68 BILLION. Think about the good that money can do staying in the USA.

That number reflects the total (world wide) U.S. trade deficit, not the NAFTA deficit.

Economists consider that NAFTA was beneficial for the United States. In a 2012 survey of leading economists, 95% said that on average U.S. citizens benefited from NAFTA. A 2001 Journal of Economic Perspectives review found that NAFTA was a net benefit to the United States. A 2015 study found that US welfare increased by [sign in to see URL]% as a result of NAFTA tariff reductions, and that US intra-bloc trade increased by 41%.

In 2015, the Congressional Research Service concluded that the "net overall effect of NAFTA on the U.S. economy appears to have been relatively modest, primarily because trade with Canada and Mexico accounts for a small percentage of U.S. GDP. However, there were worker and firm adjustment costs as the three countries adjusted to more open trade and investment among their economies." The report also estimated that NAFTA added $80 billion to the US economy since its implementation, equivalent to a 0.5% increase in US GDP.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce credits NAFTA with increasing U.S. trade in goods and services with Canada and Mexico from $337 billion in 1993 to $1.2 trillion in 2011, while the AFL-CIO blames the agreement for sending 700,000 American manufacturing jobs to Mexico over that time.

University of California, San Diego economics professor Gordon Hanson has said that NAFTA helped the U.S. compete against China and therefore saved U.S. jobs. While some jobs were lost to Mexico as a result of NAFTA, considerably more would have been lost to China if not for NAFTA.....

A lot of people agreeing on something does not make it fact. Neither does a consensus of 98% of scientists make it fact.

Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity's word however, makes it a fact.

Rocket, if DJT's IQ is 150+ based on his SAT scores and his graduating from Wharton, then I'm smarter than Einstein! (I make no such claim, however; except as to my having graduated from Wharton -- twice.)

Rocket claims he is right because...

quote:

rocket

Many people claim that Donald Trump has an IQ score of somewhere between 151 - 156

Then rocket says

quote:

A lot of people agreeing on something does not make it fact.

That seems counteractive.

Potango, I'm going to try to be gental here so as not to offend you or hurt your little feelings. Many people claim just the opposite of what you post. Sorry Pal.

Its spelled "gentle".

This person has insulted me about 3 times now. I will bet sisl, rocket and the cry baby will be on here soon claiming rocket came on here and the liberals started insulting him for no reason.

"Many people"....... The special new "hooked on phonics" propaganda talking point straight from Agent Oranges Ministry of Propaganda! AKA Trump U.(Warning, this only works on the dull witted.)
