She's in from the cold!

There is great rejoicing in the SISL household as a dearly loved step-daughter has returned from the living death of heroin addiction and it's attendant troubles.

Clean for a year, and clear of all criminal-justice system judgements, she is now ready to re-start her life, at age 36.

I have nearly worn out my knees praying and thanking GOD for HIS many blessings.

The once-thought-impossible has happened, and my tears are flowing.

It's great to share this news on the MeMaw Page----may she rest in peace after a life well lived!

I'm happy for your family, Sisl.
Substance abuse is slowly dragging humanity down, with not nearly enough successes such as yours to celebrate.
Best wishes for her new life.

Thanks Teech, I am as happy as a Father can be, and credit LOTS of both patience and prayer for her return to us after many years and MANY setbacks.

I'm sure that she is back-to-stay this time.

I can't get enough of hugging her!

    Thanks Elk-Buddy!

    Life is VERY good!

Prayer and patience did it---in that order.

    PLUS some "tough love"!

I'm so very glad for all of you. She CAN do this! My sister unfortunately succumbed to a lifetime of heroin addiction at age 53. Besides the physical symptoms of beating addiction, addicts have to learn to deal with the guilt of their addiction. She is and always will be a perfect child of God. My prayer for her today:

Let me remember, today, that God created me. My Source defines what I am. I am not defined by my past, by my upbringing, by my unkind words or deeds. Nor are my brothers (sisters) defined by theirs. We are, all of us, defined by God. And what we are is His perfect Son (Daughter).

God Bless!!

You made my day, stranger. That's the best news I've heard in a long, long time and I love it. Keep her safe and keep her close.

Congratulations... drugs are not easy to kick and heroin is one of the worst to try and get free of. As IC2 said... she really needs you now more than ever.

Good luck!

After a year, I am happy to report that she is still clean and sober, and making her own way in life.

It ain't easy, but it's much better than the life of addiction.

Thanks to all for your concern and Best Wishes.
