I'm waiting for Baraks "change", but it looks like "more of the same"...

Barack Obama campaigned on a pledge to change Washington, vowing to upend the K Street lobbying culture he encountered when he joined the U.S. Senate.

But more than a dozen members of President-elect Obama’s fast-growing transition team have worked as federally registered lobbyists within the past four years.

They include former lobbyists for the nation’s trial lawyers association, mortgage giant Fannie Mae, drug companies such as Amgen, high-tech firms such as Microsoft, labor unions and the liberal advocacy group Center for American Progress.

Mark Gitenstein, one of the 12 transition board members who will play a significant role in shaping the Obama administration, worked on million-dollar lobbying contracts with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and promoted legislation for giant defense contractors Boeing and General Dynamics.

Until this fall, he was registered to petition Congress and the Securities and Exchange Commission on behalf of AT&T, Merrill Lynch, KPMG, Ernst & Young and others.

Ron Klain, Joe Biden’s chief of staff, had lobbied for Fannie Mae on “regulatory matters” until 2004, when the fraud got uncovered after years of Congressional interference with regulators.

Klain also lobbied for companies defending asbestos lawsuits and for ImClone, the drugmaker that faced charges of fraud.

John Podesta, the man running Obama’s transition spent the last few years lobbying for the far-Left group Center for American Progress.

Patrick Gaspard, lobbied on health care issues on behalf of the SEIU, now associate personnel director for the transition team

Hmmmm... so far it looks like "business as usual" under President Hope [sign in to see URL].

I hope I'm proven wrong....

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again

The change, it had to come
We knew it all along
We were liberated from the foe, that's all
And the world looks just the same
And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they all flown in the next war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
No, no!

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie

Do ya?

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

There's nothing in the street
Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around me
Pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again
Don't get fooled again
No, no!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Meet the new boss
Same as the old boss

Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government.

The change has already happened. Politicians always promise more than they can deliver. But the point is that no matter what policies Obama implements thay will sway the country towards the middle since we have been very wide right in the last eight years. In any case, the proof is in the pudding and Obama has four years plus to bake us a nice one.

Wipe your teary eyes and take a break why dont ya??? Obama has until Jan. 20th before this Texas Wingnut leaves office and he then will be OUR next president!???/

What part of "change"would you have him attempt while your Lord and master is still holding the reigns of power?

If he said Boo, you'd !@#$ all over him... if he waits, you !@#$ all over [sign in to see URL] blue cons either way!

His team is working on setting up a new Govt.. one this country needs more badly than any of you want ot admit...

Will it work as we are hoping? Bush has a lot of signing statements to be deleted, a few real messes to be dealt with in the first days... he has bailed out his banking buddies and will spend the next weeks working out pardons for Scooter and Rove and Gonzales... etc. etc... Did you really think Obama would be elected the 4th and you could blame him because your 401K is dwindling and nothing is being done to help ...???? What is he supposed to do with your God while he usurps the power of office that wont be his for days yet...

Change Will [sign in to see URL] YOU wont like it much!

John Podesta, the co-chairman of the Obama-Biden transition team, provided an update on the presidential transition Tuesday afternoon. [sign in to see URL]: Who do you think Obama should pick for his cabinet?

Podesta laid out the ethics rules for the transition, but he did not make any key staff announcements.

Under ethics guidelines, Podesta said, federal lobbyists are banned from contributing money to transition and they cannot lobby during their work with the transition, among other things.

Ethics Code Limits Lobbyists
November 12, 2008
President-elect Obama, who campaigned against lobbyists' influence, on Tuesday opened the door for them to work for him if they sign an ethics code that restricts their role in and out of government.

Lobbyists can work for Obama's transition if they stop their advocacy efforts and avoid working in any field that they lobbied on in the last year. They also must pledge not to lobby the Obama administration on the same matters they focused on during the transition for a year after leaving Obama's service.

The ethics policy allows Obama to hire any of the some 22,000 federally registered lobbyists who could be valuable assets because of their government experience. Obama transition co-chairman John Podesta announced the lobbyist policy in Washington.
